The river was frozen solid when Eavan approached. There wasn't a soul to be seen in the Weird Winter Wonderland (Say that 5 times fast). After a few moments of just standing in the snow and looking around she decided to find a place to drink, Eavan gently pressed a paw onto the ice, both testing its thickness and attempting to melt the ice.

For several seconds nothing happened, Eavan flicked her ears and focused on her paw, suddenly a small patch of grass appeared on the ice, growing quickly then freezing to death. She snorted in distaste and places both paws in the ice, finally the ice began to melt, soon it left a good sized hole in the ice. She crouched down and lapped up the water, leave her unaware of anything.

Alice raised an eyebrow. she had been perched in a tree across the river from the large cat, and had witnessed her little trick to melt the ice.

"magic?" she wondered aloud. she was no stranger to magic. perhaps she should ask...

fluttering down from her branch, she landed softly in a snowbank. she walked to the river's edge, purposely stepping on a piece of ice to make a small sound, alerting it of her prescence.

"Hello there." said the pixie, her wings lowered so the cougar couldn't see their nervous yellow-green. Alice hoped the animal was friendly, or at least would react well to her being able to speak the same language.

Eavan looked up from her drink, her ears were alert and her eyes wide. She stared at the Pixie with curiosity, Slowly she straitened up and stood in front of the magical humanoid. Her tail lashes lazily and her posture was laid back and nonthreatening.

"Hullo" Eavan's voice was clear and friendly, because here in the Weird Lands it was really nothing big to see Pixies.

Alice smiled at the cougar, her wings perkig up a little bit, turning their normal, bubbly blue.

"I'm Alice, what's your name?" she asked kindly, emrald eyes shining in the sunlight bounced around by snow and ice. she dug a tiny hole into the snow with her big toe, grateful for her thick skin that insulated her. she simply couldn't stand shoes. they were too... binding. pixies don't like being held in one place, and for Alice, this was multiplied. she hated binding her feet into leather and tying them there. they would just sit and cook in their own trapped heat untill she got sick of it and ripped the shoes off.

"Eavan" the Cougar answered as she watched the Pixie.
"Whatcha doing out here?" Eavan asked with a tilt of her head, for it helped her think better. As she waited for Alice to answer she gave the Pixie a look over, what caught her attention the most was the wings that seemed to develop tinges of color and dissolve into different colors, but overall the colors were blue. Eavan smiled a catty smile and made eye contact with the Pixie.

Alice stopped a moment, her wings turning a thoughtful, pale sagey tone. "well, I just wander a lot, and i guess today i ended up here." she shrugged. "tomorrow, who knows? how 'bout you? what're you doing out here?" the pixie asked back, settling down to sit crosslegged on the riverbank. the snow melted to wet her jeans, but she didn't really care. they'd dry later, anyway.

"I wonder around, and well" she paused for a moment and though her next words.
"I came from the deep mountains" She sat down and curled her tail about her paws, she winced as thorns dug into her tail, even now she had a hard time controlling that powers that coursed though her paws. "Haven't been back since my family disappeared" she finished with a shrug. She didn't consider it a big thing her family was gone, she figured it was natural for families to leave.

Alice frowned slightly. it saddened her whenever someone lost their family.((ooc: teehee, book refrence...)) but she had never seen cougars travel in packs, so she guessed that it was only natural once they became old enough. she herself had eventually left home, and hadn't been back since.

her sharp emrald eyes caught something by the cougar's paws, and a small wince from Eavan. oh, yes, what she had come to ask about.

"Eavan, you wouldn't happen to be... magical or something similar, would you?" she asked, purely out of curiosity. she herself was magical, and tended to use magic often. a little too often, as some would say.

Eavan nodded.
"I guess you could call it that" She lifted her left paw, fat clear drops of water dripped from it. At first glace it would have seemed the liquid was melted ice crystals that has stuck to her paw, but upon closer examination it was clear that the water was seeping though the pads of her paws.
"Don't really know how it happens, sometimes I can control it" at these words that water stopped running from her paws.
"I control three different element's" She finished, grateful that she could finally tell someone.

the pixie's eyes widened. she had certainly never seen anything like that before. "woah, that's really cool! three elements, huh? water, plants i think, and what's the last one?" she asked eagerly.

"Fire" Eavan motioned her head to the hole at her paws, which was starting to freeze once more.
"Its a pain to have to tell the truth" for a moment she paused and look around, before returning to the Pixie.
"What 'bout your powers?"

Alice's eyes lit up. ooh, fire... ((OOC: being pyro is fun, isn't it ^^?))

"I just have universal magic. it can't do the big stuff, like neocromancy" she shuddered, "and it's not as strong as pure elemental, but it's pretty handy. it patches me up when i get hurt and helps me make shelter... that sort of stuff." Alice shrugged. "i've thought about focusing on one specialty, but universal is just too much fun..." she giggled, filling a palm with magic and watching it interact with the air.

Eavan watched the Pixie work the magic, it was interesting to watch.
"What about your wings?" she asked. Her honey eyes staring into the air.

Alice looked at them over her shoulder. "ooh, these are fun. they let me fly, though i like hovering and skimming better. too high and i get nausious. once i passed out at a few thousand feet up. i was luck, i woke up just before i almost hit a tree." she shivered in memory, "but other than that they just show moods, and work as pretty nice night-lights if i do say so myself"
